I started my preschool search when my DS was 2 1/2 years old. I thought I had plenty of time. Stories of yuppy mothers enrolling their children in fancy preschools in utero were CRAZY -- or so I thought.
What I found: There is just no place with a comprehensive list of school choices and options for Northern Virginia available anywhere! I looked at the magazines (Washingtonian, Washington Family, NoVA Parenting mags). I searched the internet. I attended TEN open houses! I was disheartened by much of what I found! Finally, in desperation, at the seventh or eighth school open house, I asked a mother where else she had looked. I got three more schools I had never heard of.
So, this blog is meant to be as comprehensive as possible about the process and options available in or around Arlington/Falls Church VA so that you can make the best choice possible for your kids. But please keep in mind, this blog is just based on my opinion. I mean no disrespect to any schools, but I'll give my experience and opinions from my perspective. Always check with the schools on their current policy. Things change. My experience may be out of date as school personnel change, also.
